The municipality located in northern Portugal is planning to celebrate diversity with its first LGBTI+ pride!

From the north to the south of Portugal, lots of initiatives such as this one are beginning to pop making the country burst in colours ?️‍?

The initiative came from the partnership of a young woman from the community of Amarante with the Feminism Under Wheels Association and Amarante’s Youth House.

The first meeting aiming the stipulation and organization of this event took place last week. “The number of people who attended the meeting exceeded our expectations and showed that Amarante is ready for the next big challenge”, states Amarante’s Youth House on their Facebook.

“We are people of different ages and geographies, with training in different areas, with greater or lesser experience in promoting initiatives for LGBTQ and Human Rights. So we decided to get together and build a common path.

We are also proudly Amarantinas and Amarantinos, proudly LGBTQ people, allies and allies. We want to contribute to a more diverse city, safe for all people, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation.”
